Ames Taping & Plastering – what is it?

Ames taping, instead of covering the whole wall (like plastering), only covers the joints in a new plasterboard to protect from fire and smoke. A longer yet effective method is plastering, where a thin layer of plaster is coated over the entire wall, and not just the seams. This one-shot one coat method is applied with water and so is generally very wet and therefore takes longer to dry.
