I couldn’t quite believe it when Dulux announced their colour of the year 2022. It feels like yesterday that I discovered the colour of the year 2021…… and it wasn’t much to write home about if I’m honest. Neutral colours are lovely, but if like me you like a statement or a chance for your personality to come through, you Have to take a look at 2022’s colours of the year, and there are a few that compliment one another!
Dulux.
For 2022 Dulux have gone for a fresh vibrant blue, aptly named Bright Skies. It just fills you with optimism doesn’t it! This light blue isn’t washed out like similar shades in the past, and Dulux are pairing it with other light bright shades to show just how fun and airy any space can become!

Farrow & Ball.
Last year Farrow & Ball went for blues, albeit bark and strong in shades. This year they have gone for a more eclectic mix of shades. There are 5 trending for 2022 with my favourite being a rich yellow called Babouche No.223. You should have a look at the others as they compliment one another nicely.

Graham and Brown.
I’m not biased in the least, but you may have already guessed and I’m more drawn to Graham and Brown than any other decorating suppliers. Their colour of the year for 2021 was rich and comforting and exactly what we needed. This year, not unlike Dulux, they have brought us light, airy and optimistic with their shade Breathe. They have paired this with a beautiful paper of the year which you should absolutely go and have a look at. The two remind me of looking out the window of a beach house, early in the morning, or maybe that’s just wishful thinking on my part!

Looking to the future.
when the colours of the next year are announced I inadvertently take stock of how this year is going, and what I plan to achieve in what is left of it. I hope the trends for next year, and this blog have given you a little optimism for what’s still to come.
