White – pure, simple, clean. But is that all?

When it comes to the colour white two things come to my mind, and the contrast couldn’t be more different!

Snow.

Clean, crisp, cold and fresh….. when it’s new it’s perfect! Just like newly painted white walls.

Sun!

My mind also goes to how the sun shines down on white washed houses of European towns. Greece especially come to mind and it makes me crave the sun and heat of these countries.

What can we do whilst waiting for the snow and sun?

In years gone by white wasn’t a commonly used colour. Magnolia was said to be warmer and more welcoming, where white was clinical. That opinion has changed now and almost turned around completely. Where magnolia is now almost out of favour, white, in its fresh clean durable state, pairs so well with every other colour, it’s easy to see why it has become so popular.
