Credit where it’s due

Stay positive.

I’m going to write this quietly incase I jinx it. The sun has made quite a few appearances over the past two weeks. I know we don’t have lots to smile about, but even cold sun on your face is better than no sun at all.

Drier weather on the horizon means we are beginning to plan outside work. We always have a waiting list for this and it’s work we can safely do just now. So no rain dances please.

Turning tides.

Spring is well on its way. The days are getting longer and the sun brighter. Easter eggs are on the shelves and hopefully if you are homeschooling, you’ll all have found your comfort zone and even possibly an end date.

Vaccines are being given at a phenomenal rate, front line staff really are going above and beyond at every turn.

Control your fate.

There are positive things happening if you look for them! We have a vaccine. The R rate is coming down.

Some people are listening to the rules and following the restrictions. Don’t get me wrong, we aren’t where we want to be. ICU numbers and fatalities although decreasing, are still heartbreakingly high. However the UK government seems to be following the example of the best countries in the world now. Granted it’s a year late. But anything is better than nothing!

Imagination.

Those of us who own our own companies have had to go with the changes and do what we can to keep trading. From changing service delivery to following all guidelines in place, it hasn’t been easy, but we Are the lucky ones!

There are so many that have had to stop completely. Change their lifestyle and job to keep afloat. These people surely have achieved hero status with all of the other newly recognised hero’s in our midst.

Recognition.

To our healthcare workers.

To our front line workers.

To our (helpful) government officials.

To our teachers.

To the workers that keep on going.

To our children.

To the parents delivering emergency education  (I don’t like to say homeschool too much, that’s just not what’s happening) in circumstances they never thought possible.

To our spiritual leaders.

To the entertainment industry trying their best to keep going and make us happier.

To the newly qualified PPE specialists.

To everyone who is making it through however you can.

To the victims of this pandemic…..

Everyone deserves recognition for the hand they’ve been dealt in a situation we never thought imaginable.

Survivors.

We have to remember that people have gone through hardships before us. They survived and we are the proof of that. We have to just keep going, the best we can.

Everyone’s contribution to their world is still a contribution!

Team work.

This week we thank team Ardent, for showing up and stepping up. For trusting us to keep you safe and for playing your part in being responsible throughout this past year. If there was ever a team building exercise this has certainly been it!

Bruce, our restoration Specialist! Thank you for your unchanging work ethic over the past year.

Johann, the workhorse, bright and early every day. Thank you for mucking in and being a real team player.

Steven, forever ‘the boy’ but in reality you took in every second of training David gave you. Our mini me. Best investment we ever made.

David ‘the boss’. Not every couple can work together, but you knew it would work. Your drive is infectious, your skill second to none. Thank you for keeping us all going.

Everyone deserves recognition. It makes all the difference in someone’s day. If you want to light up a room give someone the recognition they deserve and enjoy the outcome.
