White wash cycles.
Even though I have a house with three males, I have more white washes than anything else, due to David’s uniform. I suppose at least I don’t have to iron 7 white shirts every week.
It snows inside, every day!
When david comes home, even though his overalls don’t come into the house, he still leaves a trail of white particles in his wake. In the past this was a pet peeve of mine, now I’ve realised that following him with the hoover is more productive than moaning at him.
Shopping joys!
Every couple of months david asks me to get him fresh trainers and joggers. If you follow Tik Tok you’ll know another trend is men in grey joggers, I never saw the big deal? But then realised david has been on trend for years as he’s always worn them!
However, purchasing trainers is another story, seeking out comfortable well made bright white trainers isn’t the easiest task, so it’s heartbreaking when after a few days he’s got them paint stained and creased.
Garage woes.
I have the luxury of a second fridge freezer in the garage. The only problem is I can’t actually get to it because of all of the work materials being stored in there.
My house is no show home.
Our hard work and resilience has paid off and the Ardent team on the whole have stayed busy throughout the pandemic. The downside for me is that my dreams of this house being decorated at long last never came to fruition. There’s filler on some walls, wallpaper purchased and sitting in the office, but one year later and we have no lift off.
Colour Charts.
In a house of two adults, two boys and a dog, I’m never done tidying up. In this house that includes colour charts. They seem to get everywhere. Just to tempt me into thinking they’ve been left there for me to look at. I can say this this week the ones on my kitchen worktop were actually for me! Or so david said anyway……..
The kids ace school projects!
With a painter as a dad your imagination can run wild when tasked with making something at home. Our youngest’s last two projects were helped along with dads artistic imagination and abundance of materials! Polystyrene bridges painted with real exterior black, and this week eggs painted with bespoke mixed emulsion by daddy to produce the exact shades needed for The Mandelorian and The Child.
It’s not all bad, in fact it’s infectious! I’ve learned so much from David over the years, and even more since coming on board with the business. He might not have time for Tik Tok himself, but that’s because he’s too busy delivering an amazing service to our customers and growing our business.
