Freshening up.
We recently decorated our kitchen. Well, when I say we, I mean david……
I cleaned and he prepped and painted everywhere.
Devil’s in the detail.
I’ve been desperate for new lighting in our kitchen, it was terrible! I got new lights that let us see into the corners of the room and even the cupboards! After 15 years in this house I can’t believe I was living in such darkness.
They arrived and we realised they are monsters, almost like street lights! David hated them. I loved them, I could see!
He said they’d show up the imperfections on part of the ceiling that had to be cut out and patched due to an upstairs leak. I couldn’t see what he was talking about, but good decorators can see things where we can’t, because they look for them.
I still think they are fab, and david has come to terms with it.
Happier upstairs 😉
As I said in a past blog, david decorated our bedroom whilst we were isolating. I had the same problem up there, terrible lighting! Newer houses have built in spot lights- I love this idea, even if they do make most rooms a tad clinical looking. We haven’t had the time to get round to this, so again I was on the hunt for new lighting!
I found the perfect formation and this time david was happy as he knew after decorating our room was perfect in any light.
Extra mile.
There have been occasions where our men can be found with their faces flat against the wall, torch in hand, checking walls. We’ve laughed about this in the past, but in reality it’s the best way to make sure our work is as good as it should be. All rooms have different light, natural and powered. Depending on when you’re there you will always see things different ways. When decorating we don’t have the luxury of 24hr perfect daylight, sometimes we don’t have the luxury of any light! So we go to some lengths to make sure we are happy with the job we do.
