Remember to be grateful.
When I say we are fully operational, I really mean I’ve never seen David and the team put in the hours they are right now. It’s not that people want their work done, they need it done!

David takes full responsibility for your expectations and experience with us. Between contract handover dates, retail and salon reopening dates, hospital discharge expectations and beautiful new arrivals coming home, the team at Ardent are literally working day and night, 7 days a week to complete every job as quickly as possible.
Gratitude.

I’m not telling you this to feel sorry for them, but to show my gratitude to them, and to you, for contracting us to do your work. For being patient and sticking with us and for allowing us to work responsibly without feeling we are letting anyone down.

Respect.
I can’t believe that we have to be reminded that we are STILL living through a pandemic, it hasn’t disappeared all of a sudden and things aren’t back to normal. My upmost respect goes out to those who have had to wait until this week to start work, or those who still haven’t been able to go back. Your patience and respect for the people around you are what’s helping to lower the rate of infection. Thank you.

Is clapping enough?

Every week the nation, sometimes the world, stood on their doorsteps and clapped for the front line workers, the people who stayed when everyone else was made to stay indoors for their safety.
Although I am no longer a practising nurse, I am and always will be a nurse. The healthcare workers, paramedics, and many many others who kept working to save the lives of unknown people, risking their own to do this, deserve more than a clap. They have learned not to expect anymore, but they deserve the pay rise the rest of the public sector will get. They won’t get a bonus for their efforts, or an extra day off that can be given out in the private sectors. So far the biggest thing most of these people have gotten as a reward is that they can return to their own specialty, after quickly learning a new one without choice or hesitation.

I don’t mean to rant.
This week I’ve used this blog as a platform to say THANK YOU for playing your part so far, thank you for protecting us all in whichever way you have. If it’s been staying in, shopping for other households, wearing a face mask, following the guidance, not taking a drive to check your eyesight, working through this whole thing, or financially burdening yourself in ways you never thought you would to stay home.

All of these things are a big deal! We’ve all played our part. Although of course I am most thankful to those front line workers for keeping us and our loved ones alive, and for holding the hands of our loved ones when we couldn’t, whilst they lost their battle to Covid-19.
To me, you deserve the world.
Here in our little bubble the Ardent team get my thanks too. For working hard, staying safe, following guidance when others aren’t and for putting food into our mouths. My family will forever be grateful for our business and our customers.
Thank you for your loyalty. You know where we are for any works needed.
